I hope to do this every year with Callum! I can’t wait to see how his answers change over the years.

This is how I write my name:

I am 3’8″ and I weight 42 pounds

My best friends name is: AJ

My favourite thing to play is: Monopoly

My favourite colour: Red

My favourite book: Chapter books! Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

My favourite movie: Superwings

When I grow up I want to be: An Elephant Keeper

My favourite thing about myself: That I can go fishing with Grandpa

What’s one thing you want to do this year? Go to that place Jaxon had his birthday (Galaxy Land)

What brings you the most happiness? Being with Grandpa

What are you afraid of? Not really anything

When do you feel the most loved? Mommy

If you had one wish what would you wish for? That I was an Elephant Keeper right now

What is the funniest word? Don’t really know

What is the hardest thing to do? Climbing a tree

What is the easiest thing to do? Ride a bike

If you had all the money in the world what would you do with it? Spend MOST of it to go to the waterpark (he really stressed MOST)

What is the meaning of life? So you can do fun things that you like

He bounded out of his room this morning shouting “KINDERGARTEN DAY! KINDERGARTEN DAY!”
He was dressed before breakfast.
He wrote his name
We measured him.
Then it was time to go.
He insisted we couldn’t run to school because he was wearing a backpack.
He quietly observed while the chaos of getting all the kids into the school on the first day of school unfolded.
He followed Mrs. Lee straight into the classroom, not an ounce of hesitation in him.
Welcome to Kindergarten my sweet Callum. May you have a year of adventure and friendship and the most fun you’ve had yet.

Max clapping for Callum. He is Callum’s biggest fan.

Here’s hoping they indulge me and continue to do this photo every year!

In the morning our whole world changes.
My heart is flip flopping back and forth to being excited and thrilled and so happy for him, to just being completely emotional about the end of a huge chapter in our lives.
The boy who made me a mom is off to school tomorrow, and his world is going to open up to whole new experiences, new ways of life, new people.
I keep reminding myself we’ve given him the tools to be successful. That he’s a smart boy and he’s so full of love and eagerness he’ll be just fine.
My mom heart keeps praying he’ll find kind friends, he’ll be surrounded by good hearted people, and he’ll love school.
He’s all packed and ready. He asked for peas, cucumbers and carrots as his snack, and he picked out his own outfit.
Tomorrow we wake up with a kindergartner.

Max’s First Fish

2018

This has been a long time coming! Max has been so incredibly proud about being a fisherman, even though he is terrified of the fish!

This was a proud day for all of us. Grandpa and Max especially.

And here the boys are eating the fruits of their labour.

Little Biker Gang

2018

These boys have been joined at the hip all summer! So many miles put on these bikes, my kiddos are going to miss these friends.
