Soccer 2017

2017

Callum’s first season of community league soccer is officially finished.

My shy, kind little boy had a hard time kicking the ball too hard or ever trying to steal it from anyone else, but man he ran his little heart out, and he defended that net like a pro.

He adored every minute and was so eager to play. We had an amazing experience with his coach and the kids. I’m so incredibly happy it went so well, and he already can’t wait until next year.

Escape to Elk Island

2017

Friends were camped out at Elk Island National Park, and I invited us to go see them. (ha! We’re friends like that) We took the crazy short drive out to Astotin campground and met them at the beach area.

Holy man it’s changed a lot since we were there last, 8 years ago when we took Gareth’s family out there for a day trip.

We did a short walk around the lake while the kids ran, and soon overheated. A quick stop at the park, and we headed for the water for a swim.

A play on the dock, a caribou spotting (REALLY close!), tons of splashing, and it was dinner time. The evening flew by and the kids were exhausted. It was such a slow paced, calm evening.

It felt like the perfect summer day.

This is Max

2017

Everything that is beautiful and messy about this boy. The long thick lashes, the constant scrapes and cuts. Everything he does is full force, and it always shows.
